Our region is the perfect destination to enjoy active tourism in winter as well as during the summer, since we have more than 300 sunny days a year and 18ºC average annual temperature.
Two seas and one coast (Mediterranean Sea and Mar Menor) expand the range of possibilities. The Mar Menor is a big coastal lagoon, with more than 170 km2 of calm salt water: it is the perfect setting to enjoy activities such as sailing, kite surfing, canoeing or stand-up paddle.
You can also enjoy those sports at other places of the Costa Cálida such as Águilas, Mazarrón, Cabo de Palos, La Manga and the coast of Cartagena, for instance El Portús, La Azohía or Isla Plana. Moreover, the Estación Náutica Mar Menor offers visitors a wide range of nautical activities at La Manga and the Mar Menor.
Likewise, you will discover exciting and interesting spots on the Costa Cálida's seabeds, perfect for diving and underwater caving. Thanks to the numerous schools in the area, it is possible to dive next to old sunken vessels and at marine reserves such as Islas Hormigas in Cabo de Palos, or to dive along posidonia meadows in Águilas and Mazarrón.
