Route
Serreta Cave, transfer by car to the Medina Siyasa site
Archaeological treasures of Cieza
A visit to the two most emblematic sites of Cieza's archaeological heritage. The route gives us an opportunity to enjoy the unique enclave of the Serreta Cave, a rock art site located in an incomparable natural setting: the Canón de Almadenes (Canyon). The location's beauty and spectacular scenery, the excellent condition of the paintings, and the fact that it harbors the remnants of the only documented Roman habitat in a cave on the entire Peninsula, make La Serreta a unique site and a must-visit. We will also visit the magnificent Islamic site of Siyâsa, one of the most significant in Western Islam, and an outstanding place to learn about Spanish-Muslim houses and daily life in Al-Andalus. Its strong state of preservation allows us to appreciate the ancient Islamic enclave's original structures.
*Access to the two places on the route are managed by an exclusive concessionaire, and the prices are established by a Municipal Ordinance.
