Unique Caravaca
Nerves and tension. Silence and sweat are all that is felt until one hears "¡Caballo en carrera" (Horse running!) It is then when a race begins in which four young men, clutching a harnessed horse covered in richly embroidered cloaks, recreate the feat of a group of Knights Templar some 800 years ago.
Come and discover all the sentiment and excitement of this great festival, declared World Heritage by Unesco. Enjoy visiting the Museo de los Caballos del Vino (Wine Horses Museum) and the Museo de la Fiesta (Festival Museum), essential to understand the origin, history and evolution of this special event that takes place every year in the holy city of Caravaca de la Cruz.
A few kilometers from the old town we find a unique natural landscape, its waters feeding the city's fountains. We are talking about the Fuentes del Marques* (Fountains of the Marquis), where water, nature and the vestiges of the Templar tower that houses the Nature Interpretation Center conclude this visit to the most unique Caravaca.
