Chicharra Yecla Greenway recovers for hiking and touring-cyclist use the 8.9 kilometers of the old railway line between the city of Yecla and the municipality of Villena, in the Valencian Commumity, where the Las Virtudes - Villena - Biar section is already finished under the name of Greenway Xixarra

Chicharra Yecla GreenWay begins in the old rallway Station, and it is composed of a firts urban section formed by streets and then by the bike lane net to the RM-425 Yecla-Villena road executed on the old railway platform, in a route of about 2.5 km that has now been signposted.

At 1 km fron the beginning the small bridge was replaced a few years ago to save the passage of a watercourse.

After crossing through the entrance ramps of the N-344 road, we go back to the rallway line in the Casa del Hoyo area, where a rest area has been located, and the improvement of the country road of the green way begins.

The route goes down gradually towards the east, through and agrarian landscape where the vineyards stand out and the city can be seen at the foot of the castle hill.

About 5.5 km from the star, a rest area has been set up in the Los Marrañaos area, where there was an old train stop of which nothing remains. After the A-33 motorway under construction, the green way reaches its end at El Patojo (km 8.9), the limit of the municipal area. At this point a rest area has been set up, which can be accessed by a sealed way from the RM-425.

From this place we can reach the old train route into the Alto Vinalopó region of Alicante, whit a not improved first section of 6.8 km to the Las Virtudes stop, where it begins the improve section of almost 16 km named "Xixarra Greenway" that reaches Villena until Biar.
