What you Shouldn't miss Bullas

What you Shouldn't miss

A LOCAL HIGHLIGHT

EL SALTO DEL USERO

Located on the course of the River Mula, this is an exceptionally beautiful spot, of great hydrological, geomorphological and sedimentological interest. The erosion of the river bed has given rise to an unusual vault-like structure, with water plunging down to the bottom in a 3- to 4-metre-high cascade. Because of the environmental value of the surroundings and its crystalline waters, the Salto del Usero is generally very popular with visitors and local people in summer.

CRAFT MARKET

'EL ZACATÍN'

The first Sunday each month, the heart of the town of Bullas bustles with life at the traditional 'El Zacatín' street market. Between the Plaza Vieja and the Plaza del Castillo, you can find all manner of crafts and natural products: pottery, embroidery, sausages, sweets, aromatic herbs, organic food... As well as being able to sample the most exquisite food and enjoy street entertainment, visitors can also take a step back into the past and discover how these products are made through demonstrations of ancient crafts.

AN ACTIVITY

TREKKING IN EL ROMERO

The El Romero Nature Trail has been designed to be followed on foot, by bicycle or on horseback. The trail starts at the La Rafa' tourist and recreational complex, and runs through vineyards and forested areas of great environmental value close to the Sierra de Burete and Sierra de Lavia. Along the way, you can see the Paraje del Carrascalejo, where Bullas' oldest working winery, which has been producing wine since the mid 19th Century, is located.

A CELEBRATION

FIESTA DEL VINO

Taking place over the last weekend in September, this is the forerunner to the fiestas in honour of the town's patron, Our Lady of the Rosary. Over the weekend, a large number of activities related to the district's star product take place. These include the appointment of the Master of the Wine, the Treading of the Grapes and the Blessing of the First Must, the inauguration of the Wine Fountain and guided visits to the town's wine facilities, to name but a few. At the same time the Feria de la Tapa or Tapas Fair also takes place, where local people and visitors can enjoy the tastiest creations from local restaurants in a festive atmosphere.
