Aledo
In the brief Muslim period which Aledo was besieged, the current Santa Maria la Real church was initially a mosque with only one nave and a bell tower. It was converted to a Christian church after the cession of Aledo to the Santiago Order (1257). The construction of the second catholic temple and current church was initiated in 1761, the scarcity of resources meant that the work would not be finished until 1803. The completion of the church was made possible by the contributions of the king of Etruria Infante Carlos, Count of Montemolin. The church itself has a Baroque style and its finishes are reminiscent of Neoclassicism. The neo-classical influence can be appreciated when one gazes at its facade, its smooth pilasters and the towers made by interlocked bricks, it is also apparent in the masonry cases. It has a Latin cross floor plan with three naves separated by pilasters which hold up pointed arches. Inside there are Baroque elements such as the cornices mixed with other neoclassic elements. The image of the star in the church possesses a name, Santa Maria La Real. This virgin’s sculpture is one of the oldest in the region and dates back to the 16th century. The piece of art itself is influenced majorly by the Gothic style. The images of the Dolorosa virgin and the Aurora virgin (1775) are works of art attributed to the Murcian sculptor Francisco Salzillo.

Santiago de La Ribera (San Javier)
The church of Santiago Apostle, of modern style, has its origins in an old chapel built by the founders of Santiago de la Ribera next to their seaside residence, which in 1968 became a parish. In addition to the scenes and images represented inside, the façade is adorned with crosses in honor of the apostle. In the year 1988, Santiago de la Ribera celebrated its 100th anniversary. The founders of the town, Mr. José María Barnuevo (a member of the Order of Santiago ) and Mrs. Teresa Sandoval, commissioned the construction of their "hotel" or new residence on a plot by Santiago de la Ribera beach. The architectural plans were completed in 1905. At the same time, they also commissioned a project for the construction of a chapel attached to the gardens of their home, dedicated to the apostle Santiago. This chapel was built in the style of the time and housed the images of Santiago and the Virgin of Carmen, the patron saint of sailors. It aslo had a reserved place for the Barnuevo family in a chapel-mausoleum where the mortal remains of the founders and their relatives are still interred today. The worship at the chapel was conducted by the priests from San Javier, and in the summer, the Barnuevo family would bring in religious clergy to assist with the religious activities, which increased with the arrival of vacationers. As the population grew, the Chapel was significantly expanded, and a new Chapel dedicated to the Virgin of Carmen was added. This Chapel, which had become too small, was upgraded to a parish on July 1, 1968, during the tenure of Bishop Don Miguel Roca Cabanellas as the diocese's bishop. Just three days later, the memorandum for the construction project of the new church was signed. Two years later, on May 7, 1970, Bishop Miguel Roca blessed the new church: the "Parish of Santiago Apostle" in Santiago de la Ribera. Since 2018, it has also been the headquarters of the Brotherhood of the Holy Solitude of Mar Menor, housing its unique sculpture that is paraded during Holy Week in Santiago de la Ribera.

San Cayetano (Torre Pacheco)
Mural by Ángel Haro, made in 2006. Located on the “Island of the Artes”, this ceramic mural is strategically placed next to Jorge Fin’s mural so that it can be seen from the San Javier – Murcia highway. This work by the Valencian artist Ángel Haro is 2 x 6 metres in size and is made up of 140 pieces of pottery painted and fired in the Martín Lario workshops in Lorca. Ángel Haro has never sought the easy way, only what his concern has dictated him to do, therefore, his works acquire a great personality.

E-Cultura y Ocio y el Ayuntamiento de Blanca presentan la III edición del Concurso de Cómic Luis Molina E-Cultura y Ocio, en colaboración con el Ayuntamiento de Blanca, ha presentado hoy, en el Día Internacional del Cómic la III edición del Concurso de Cómic Luis Molina, una iniciativa cultural que continúa consolidándose como referente en el ámbito de la creación gráfica contemporánea. El acto de presentación ha contado con la presencia de Ana Lova, concejala de Turismo, Juventud y Hacienda, junto a representantes de la entidad organizadora, reafirmando el respaldo institucional a un certamen que combina promoción cultural, proyección exterior y dinamización del talento artístico. El concurso mantiene su carácter abierto a participantes de todo el mundo, sin distinción de edad o nivel profesional, y tiene como objetivo fomentar la creatividad gráfica y rendir homenaje al ilustre artista local Luis Molina. En sus ediciones anteriores, el certamen ha contado con una destacada participación nacional e internacional, recibiendo obras procedentes de distintos puntos de España y del extranjero. Las obras premiadas y seleccionadas formaron parte de una revista digital, reforzando la difusión del talento emergente y la proyección cultural del municipio. La tercera edición mantiene la dotación económica de 1.000 euros para la mejor obra presentada, así como cuatro premios de 100 euros en material escolar destinados a los centros educativos del municipio, incentivando la participación juvenil y fortaleciendo el vínculo entre cultura y educación. El jurado estará compuesto por Fidel Molina, pintor e hijo de Luis Molina; Estefanía Ramos, Directora Técnica del Departamente de Cultura y secretaria de la Asociación E-Cultura y Ocio; y Annie Chiclano, gestora cultural de AADK Spain, garantizando una valoración profesional y especializada. Las bases completas del certamen, junto con los plazos de presentación y fechas clave, se encuentran disponibles desde hoy en los canales oficiales del Ayuntamiento de Blanca y de la Asociación E-Cultura y Ocio. Más allá del ámbito estrictamente cultural, el Concurso de Cómic Luis Molina se ha convertido en una herramienta de proyección exterior para el municipio, vinculando la marca Blanca a la creatividad, la innovación artística y el talento emergente. Esta iniciativa no solo impulsa la participación local y juvenil, sino que posiciona al municipio dentro del circuito cultural contemporáneo, fortaleciendo su imagen como espacio dinámico, abierto y comprometido con la cultura. Con esta nueva convocatoria, Blanca reafirma su apuesta por el arte y la creación contemporánea, consolidando el certamen como una cita cultural de creciente proyección nacional e internacional.
